Wardogs Season 2 Release Date Is October 15: New Guns, a T-72, Rain and a Lonestar Bounty
Wardogs Season 2 lands October 15 with four new guns, a cheap T-72, dynamic rain, a risky Wager Vendor and cash bonuses for anyone willing to play Lonestar.

Somewhere on Bakurani right now, a blue squad is losing again. Not because they can't shoot, but because nobody wanted to be on their team in the first place, and Bulkhead has finally put a number on why. The Wardogs Season 2 release date is October 15, 2026, and alongside four new guns, a cheap Russian tank and a storm system that can hide your footsteps, the studio is running an open experiment on its own player base: paying people to play the underdog.
That is the most interesting thing in the Season 02 Preview Bulkhead posted on Steam on October 9. It is not the only thing.
The short version
- Wardogs Season 2 launches October 15, 2026 on Steam. No launch time or maintenance window has been announced yet.
- Four new weapons: the TCX Spear assault rifle, M14 DMR, PP-19 Bizon SMG and Evo-3 Ultra LMG, plus a Molotov throwable.
- New vehicles: the Wolf-110 and an armed Wolf-110 (Assault), the T-72 main battle tank and the Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air vehicle.
- Dynamic rain changes visibility, engagement ranges and sound, with synchronized thunder that can mask footsteps.
- Lonestar gets Season 2 only cash and XP bonuses, and any team 40 or more points behind second place gets 20% off at the vendor.
- Bulkhead says full patch notes, including balance numbers, land "early next week", which means this week.
When does Wardogs Season 2 start?
Bulkhead's own words are plain: "WARDOGS Season 2 releases October 15, 2026." That is a Thursday. The studio has not given a release time, and it has not said how long servers will be down. The Season 02 Preview promises that "full patch notes including balance changes will be dropping early next week," along with a trailer, so expect the hard numbers a day or two before launch.
One thing nobody knows yet: whether Season 2 wipes progress. Neither the Steam post nor the press materials mention a cash or XP reset for the season. If you have a fat wallet saved up, there is no official word that you will lose it, and no official word that you will keep it. We will update when Bulkhead says.
New weapons and vehicles in Wardogs Season 2
Here is everything Bulkhead has confirmed by name, with its own descriptions where it gave one. Stats, prices and unlock levels are not published yet.
| Type | Name | What Bulkhead says |
|---|---|---|
| Assault rifle | TCX Spear (TCX-SPR) | New AR, no stats yet |
| DMR | M14 | New marksman rifle |
| SMG | PP-19 Bizon | New SMG |
| LMG | Evo-3 Ultra | New LMG |
| Throwable | Molotov | "Splashes fire on impact and damages anyone caught in its radius" |
| Transport | Wolf-110 | Fast, light wheeled transport |
| Armed transport | Wolf-110 (Assault) | Ring-mounted M2 Browning |
| Tank | T-72 | "Slower than the Leopard, but cheaper and far more fuel-efficient" |
| Anti-air | Flakpanzer Gepard | Anti-air vehicle |
| Buildable | MG Nest | Manned M2 Browning emplacement |
| Buildable | Large Shelter | Covers vehicles and key assets |
| Buildable | Wooden Step | "A step. Made of wood." |
Our read: the T-72 is the sleeper pick. In a game where your wallet is your respawn timer, a tank that is cheaper and burns less fuel than the Leopard changes the math for every squad that has been priced out of armor. And the Gepard is the first real answer to air in a while, which matters given the CIWS and IR goggle balance hotfix Bulkhead already had to ship on October 2.
How does rain work in Wardogs?
Rain is a new weather preset that, in Bulkhead's words, "changes visibility, engagement ranges and sound." The preview also says it interacts with damaged and destroyed buildings, and that thunder is synchronized across the server and can briefly cover footsteps.
Our read: that thunder detail is the one to drill with your squad. If everyone hears the same crack at the same moment, a disciplined team can time a push to it. The Large Shelter keeps rain off your vehicles and key assets, so expect those to start showing up at every FOB on wet maps.
What is the Wager Vendor?
This is the experiment. "The Wager Vendor lets you bet on yourself. Win big or lose it all," the Steam post reads. You pick objectives (examples given include kills in the Hot Zone or delivering players), set how many deaths you can afford, and put up a cash stake. More objectives mean longer odds and a bigger payout, and a tracker above the minimap shows your progress.
Bulkhead is upfront that it might not last. The studio says it "may well pull it from the game during the season if it turns out to be too exploitable."
Our read: treat it as a side bet, not an income plan. Bulkhead has already reset cash and XP to zero for players caught abusing exploits, so if the Wager Vendor looks too good to be true, it probably is about to get patched.
Why is Bulkhead buffing Lonestar?
Lonestar, the blue team, has a lower win rate than the other two factions, and Bulkhead's diagnosis is blunt: "sentiment around the blue team is the largest driving factor behind players not wanting to play on it." The lore line it offers in Lonestar's defense: "Lonestar is an established PMC backed by one of the world's leading economies."
The Season 2 changes:
- Spawns moved for all factions on Bakurani.
- Lonestar uniforms are more desaturated, so they stand out less.
- "Lonestar faction cash and XP win bonus, Season 2 only," plus cash and XP multipliers. No percentages have been published.
- "A new vendor discount for the losing team: 20% off if they're at least 40 points behind second place." This applies to every faction, not just Lonestar.
- Community server hosts caught exploiting the faction bonus will be punished.
One point to watch: launch press coverage said late-match team switching will be restricted, but the Steam preview lists "Team Switching Controls" among features that are still in the pipeline. Check the patch notes before you assume it is live on October 15.
Our read: this is the smartest change in the update. Bonuses fix a reputation problem faster than a balance spreadsheet ever could, and if you want cash and XP this season, the blue jersey is now the efficient pick.
Balance changes we know about
Bulkhead is promising "adjustments to weapon damage, recoil and suppression, with the aim of establishing clearer roles across weapon classes," with numbers to come. Confirmed so far: the Infrared Rangefinder returns running on batteries, and the Super Heavy Helmet now "comes with muffled audio, a restricted field of view, and will fog over when you're sprinting," while Heavy and Super Heavy helmets get more suppression resistance. For how the economy works today, our money, loadout and Hot Zone guide still holds until the patch notes say otherwise.

What this means for CNC
Season 2 is the first big content drop since a launch that Bulkhead says has passed 3 million sales, and it is built around the things that make our squads good: logistics, fortifications and playing the objective. Rain plus synced thunder rewards comms. MG Nests and Large Shelters reward the builder who never gets the kill feed credit. If you were with us for the first two weeks of WARDOGS, expect launch day queues again and plan accordingly. We will post the full patch notes breakdown on the WARDOGS hub as soon as Bulkhead drops them. Want an easy win this season? Queue Lonestar together and cash in on the bonus.
