Dune Awakening Patch 1.5.15.0 Is Live: Ancient Way Nerf, Scout Ornithopter Buff, Powerpack Cap
Dune Awakening patch 1.5.15.0 is live on all platforms. The Ancient Way slows down, rocket pod scouts speed up, Mk5 Powerpacks get rationed, and one test server line about BattlEye is missing.

Two weeks ago, the Mk5 Powerpack shelf at the Landsraad tool vendor never ran empty, and The Ancient Way could dump its whole rocket barrage before the other guy found cover. As of this morning, both of those things are history. Dune Awakening patch 1.5.15.0 is now live on all platforms, and the changes we tracked on the Public Test Client are no longer a preview. They are the game you log into tonight.
Funcom's framing is simple. The patch is "now live on all platforms, bringing another set of fixes and improvements addressing player feedback received since the console release." There is no new region, no new boss and no new story chapter. What it does carry is a long list of fixes and four changes that move the needle on how you fight, fly and farm.
The short version
- Patch 1.5.15.0 is live now on PC and console, released October 19, 2026.
- Scout Ornithopter rocket pods now cut gliding speed by 10%, down from 20%.
- The Ancient Way multi-rocket shot delay goes from 0.71s to 1.6s.
- Mk5 Powerpacks at the Landsraad vendor are capped at 5 per refresh, and the Landsraad mission reroll exploit is closed.
- Offline bases stop burning extra fuel, and water generation is fixed.
- The live notes do not repeat the test server's "launch without BattlEye" line. More on that below.
Is Dune Awakening patch 1.5.15.0 live?
Yes. Funcom published the patch notes on October 19, 2026, and says 1.5.15.0 is live on all platforms. If you followed our test server breakdown of patch 1.5.15, that article said there was no live date yet. Now there is: today.
Funcom keeps the known issues list on its Helpshift support page rather than in the notes, so check there before you report something as a new bug.
What changed from the test server?
The balance numbers held. Every value we reported from the Public Test Client shipped unchanged in the live notes.
| Change | Before | Live in 1.5.15.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Scout Ornithopter gliding speed penalty with a rocket pod | 20% | 10% |
| The Ancient Way shot delay (augmented for multiple rockets) | 0.71s | 1.6s |
| Mk5 Powerpacks at the Landsraad vendor | Unlimited | 5 per refresh |
| Landsraad mission rerolling | Possible | Fixed |
The one thing that did not carry over word for word is BattlEye. On the test server, Funcom wrote that it "added the option to launch the game without the BattlEye anti-cheat software installed or enabled" for single-player and private servers that do not require it. The live notes only say: "Players running the game without BattlEye won't see servers that have BattlEye enabled in the Server Browser."
That line only makes sense if running without BattlEye is already possible, and the Russian outlet GoHa.ru reported on October 6 that a small Steam update had already added the option for single-player and non-BattlEye private servers. We have not seen Funcom confirm that timing in its own patch notes, so treat the exact rollout date as unconfirmed.
Our read: The test server numbers survived contact with the community. That tells you Funcom is confident in this balance pass, so do not expect a quick reversal on The Ancient Way.
The Ancient Way nerf: how bad is it?
When The Ancient Way is augmented to hold multiple rockets, the delay between shots more than doubles, from 0.71s to 1.6s. That is the whole change, and it is enough. The burst that let you unload before an enemy could react now gives them almost a full extra second between hits to break line of sight or close the gap.
Our read: The launcher is still a rocket launcher. It just stops being a panic button. If it was your Deep Desert opener, pair it with a faster follow up or re-learn your timing on the CNC combat guide for Update 1.5.
Is the Scout Ornithopter worth arming now?
The Scout Ornithopter with a rocket pod module used to give up 20% of its gliding speed. That penalty is now 10%. Funcom listed this in the patch highlights, which tells you how much feedback it got.
Our read: Armed scouts were a tax you paid for firepower. At half the penalty, a rocket pod scout becomes a real harassment and escort pick, especially for small squads that cannot afford a dedicated assault thopter on every run.
Landsraad changes: the Powerpack well runs dry
Two Landsraad changes land together. The tool vendor no longer sells unlimited Mk5 Powerpacks; it is capped at 5 per refresh. And Funcom "fixed an issue that allowed rerolling Landsraad missions."
Our read: If your guild stockpiled Powerpacks while this sat on the test server, good call. Everyone else now shops on a ration card. Plan purchases around the refresh rather than buying on demand.
Base, building and quality of life fixes
These are the changes most players will feel without reading a single number:
- Offline bases: Funcom fixed "offline base progress simulation" that "would burn more fuel than intended," and water generation that "would be too great or too little" based on the Water Extraction Rate.
- Base Reconstruction Tool no longer crashes when placing a large base, and big buildings load properly with Continue.
- Sub-fief placement that is partly outside your land claim now shows a popup with how many pieces fall outside it, and the Sub-fief override respawn notification timer is raised to 120 seconds.
- Guild leaders can rename the guild.
- DualSense controllers are natively supported on Steam.
- Campos Demari now charges for his time as well as the bribes and fuel.
- Stability: reduced shader memory cost and render frame spikes, plus a small CPU optimization in combat and sandworm encounters.
Combat and story fixes worth knowing
On the combat side, interrupted reloads no longer block shooting, negative status effects clear when you go down, Knee Charge works as a queued ability, and quickly cancelling Bindu Sprint no longer launches you forward a few meters. Boss health bars now show when you rejoin a fight.
For story players, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 journeys now award XP on completion, soft locks in the Trials of Aql are fixed, and there is a new hint about placing the Thumper in the 5th Trial. The Leech's Maw schematic now uses the same journey requirement as the other unique dual blade weapons. New players also get more time to land a Heavy Attack on the shielded enemy in the tutorial, which pairs well with our first week on Arrakis starter guide.
FAQ
When did Dune Awakening patch 1.5.15.0 go live?
Funcom released patch 1.5.15.0 on all platforms on October 19, 2026.
Did the Scout Ornithopter buff make it to live?
Yes. The gliding speed penalty with a rocket pod module dropped from 20% to 10%, the same value tested on the Public Test Client.
How many Mk5 Powerpacks can I buy now?
The Landsraad tool vendor is capped at 5 Mk5 Powerpacks per refresh.
Can I play Dune Awakening without BattlEye?
The live 1.5.15.0 notes only say players without BattlEye will not see BattlEye servers in the Server Browser. The launch option was announced on the test server and reported live on Steam earlier in October by GoHa.ru, but Funcom's live notes do not restate it.
Where are the known issues for 1.5.15.0?
Funcom lists them on its Helpshift support page, linked from the official patch notes.
What this means for CNC
For our Dune crew, tonight is a loadout night. Anyone running The Ancient Way as a primary opener should test the new timing before the next Deep Desert push, and our pilots should take another look at rocket pod scouts as escorts. Guild officers: rename the guild if it has bugged you, and budget Mk5 Powerpacks per refresh instead of per raid. Everything we cover on the game lives on the Dune: Awakening hub.
